FAQs

Who is the School of Worship for?

The School of Worship course has been designed for adults involved in the worship ministry of their church. Our heart for the school is to resource, equip and enable leaders and teams to be all that God has created them to be and called them to do, so it doesn't matter how big or small your church or team is.

Does it cost anything?

There is a fee of £150 per student. This covers all of training, resources and refreshments on each teaching day (bring your own lunch). The cost of the course could be funded by yourself, your church or a combination of both. We would encourage you to speak to your church leader about this prior to applying for a place on the course. A £50 deposit is required upon confirmation of your place. The remaining £100 is required by Friday 18th September (this can be spread over 4 monthly payments of £25 by arrangement).

Does the school offer any financial aid or scholarships?

Our desire is to see those called to leading worship teams trained for the ministry and we have developed the programme to be as affordable and accessible as possible. If the cost is a barrier to entry we would be happy to discuss this with you and see if we can help you to raise the necessary finance. You can contact us here.

Where are the teaching days held?

Our 5 teaching days are held at Holy Trinity Church in St Austell - Church Street, St Austell, PL25 4FZ. There is plenty of free parking in the church car park (entrance is opposite Churchend Veterinary Centre - PL25 4BH). The church is also less than a 5 minute walk from St Austell train and bus station. St Austell is on the SW main line so offers good connections from across the South West.

What is the application process?

Applications for the course are taken via our website clicking here. The deadline for all applications is 5th September 2026. Once you have completed the online application form. We will be in touch with your referee directly to request a reference. Once we have received this your application will be reviewed by the team. We will then contact you to confirm whether you have been offered a place. If your application is successful then at this point you will be required to pay the £50 deposit to confirm your place.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?

Cancellations received before 5th September will receive a 50% refund of their deposit. Cancellations after this time are not provided. All cancellations must be provided in writing and reasons for cancellation provided. In exceptional circumstances students may be able to postpone their place for one year but this is at the discretion of the Director.

Who is the School of Worship run by?

The South West School of Worship is run by a group of passionate and experienced worship leaders and worship pastors from a number of different churches and denominations across the South West. All of the team are volunteers and have a desire to see the Church of Jesus Christ set on fire for Jesus. Our heart is to see those involved in worship ministry resourced, equipped and enabled. You can find out more about the team here and our story here. The school is a non-denominational evangelical college who have adopted the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith which can be found here.
